Welcome!  I offer efficient and friendly dyslexia assessments and advice conveniently based in Taunton, Somerset. I provide a professional service to young people aged 8 and over in primary and secondary school, students and adults.

At the end of the assessment I will give feedback on my conclusions and then write up a jargon-free report, usually available within one week, which I am happy to discuss with you.

I was anxious about what the assessment would entail but Elaine put me at ease and explained the assessment and the results well so that I now know my strengths and weaknesses. She helped me to understand why I had been struggling for so long and gave useful ideas to help in my weak areas.

Why Elaine?

I have many years experience working with people with dyslexia.  I am a committee member of the Somerset Dyslexia Association and use my experience and knowledge to answer queries at their monthly Drop In session.  I am a fully qualified specialist teacher,  DBS checked and a member of PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties).

The tests and Elaine’s explanations of my answers gave me a full understanding of my dyslexia.  After nearly 3 hours of testing I was so pleased to have my problem properly explained to me.
